Join us for our exciting STEAM classes designed for two age groups: 7-10 and 11-14. Classes are drop-off enrichment classes. Each class is $25 and lasts an hour and a half, providing ample time for engaging lessons as well as socializing and play. Spaces are limited, so don't miss out! Each class is offered twice a week. Choose either a Tuesday or Thursday class.
STEAM (ages 7-14): Wednesdays from 12:30pm-2pm.

August 13, 2025 and August 14, 2025: Coding: Dance Party
The Coding class using code.org’s Dance Party project provides an engaging platform for students to learn coding fundamentals while creating their own interactive dance party. Participants will explore programming concepts by designing characters, adding music, and choreographing dance moves. This hands-on experience fosters creativity and problem-solving skills as students learn to apply coding logic to real-world scenarios. Whether students are beginners or have some experience, this class is an excellent opportunity to cultivate their coding skills in a fun and dynamic environment. August 20, 2025 and August 21, 2025: Play-Doh Engineering: Earthquake Towers
Join us for our exciting Play-Doh Engineering Earthquake Tower class, where creativity meets engineering! In this hands-on workshop, students will design and construct their own towers using Play-Doh, testing their designs against simulated earthquakes. Participants will learn principles of stability, engineering design, and problem-solving while having fun molding and shaping their structures. August 27, 2025 and August 28, 2025: Lego Challenge
In this interactive course, participants will unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills by building unique structures using Lego bricks. Each session will present new themes and challenges, encouraging teamwork and innovation. Whether you're a seasoned builder or new to Lego, this course promises to be fun and engaging for all ages. Get ready to construct, collaborate, and compete for the title of Lego Master Builder!

September 3, 2025 and September 4, 2025: Draw Like a Scientist: Observing Art in Nature
At Brighten Learning Center, art and science come together in this unique monthly drop-in class for ages 7–14! Each session explores how artists throughout history have studied and drawn the natural world. Students will observe insects, plants, bones, and even microscopic forms while learning key art elements like line, texture, symmetry, and value. Through guided artist studies, scientific observation, and hands-on artmaking, students will build skills in drawing, design, and creative problem-solving—all while exploring the beauty of nature up close. From zoomed-in bug illustrations to botanical sketches and abstract landforms, every month offers a new adventure in STEAM learning. Perfect for curious minds and creative hands!
September 10, 2025 and September 11, 2025: Robotics and Coding
Join us for an exciting robotics and coding class where students will explore the diverse range of robots that Brighten offers! From understanding the basics of coding to building their own robots, students will dive into hands-on projects that enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Participants will engage with various robots, learning how to program and control them to perform specific tasks.
September 17, 2025 and September 18, 2025: Science Lab
Welcome to the Science Lab for Kids! In this exciting course, young scientists will explore the wonders of science through hands-on experiments and interactive activities. From chemical reactions to biology discoveries, each session is designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. Children will learn to observe, hypothesize, and experiment just like real scientists while having fun in a safe environment. Let’s spark a love for science in our future innovators!
September 24, 2025 and September 25, 2025: STEAM Challenge
In this engaging and interactive class, students will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) challenge. Throughout the course, learners will work in teams to design and create innovative projects that address real-world problems. By combining creativity with technical skills, students will explore the interconnectedness of these disciplines. The competition will culminate in a showcase event where teams will present their projects, demonstrating their understanding and application of STEAM concepts. This class not only fosters collaboration and problem-solving skills but also encourages a passion for learning and experimenting within the STEAM fields.
