Weekly STEAM Classes

Our Weekly STEAM Classes provide students with an exciting, hands-on learning experience that combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in a fun and engaging environment. Each week, students explore new topics through experiments, engineering challenges, robotics, coding activities, creative design projects, and collaborative problem-solving.

Unlike our longer project-based courses, Weekly STEAM Classes are perfect for families looking for flexibility. Students can sign up for individual classes that match their interests or attend every week for a year full of exciting STEAM adventures. Because each class features a different theme and activity, students can jump in at any time without needing prior experience.

September 2026

September 14/16, 2026: Forces: Balloon Rockets

In this hands-on STEAM class, students will explore the force of motion by building and testing balloon rockets. They’ll investigate how different forces—such as thrust, push, and air resistance—affect speed, distance, and direction. Through experiments and friendly challenges, students will learn how engineers use forces and design changes to improve performance, all while launching and refining their own rocket creations.

September 21/23, 2026: Crushed Glass Canvas Art
September 28/30, 2026: Lego Build Lab: Space Colony

Students will create a unique artwork using acrylic paint, crushed glass, crystals, and other embellishments to design a piece that sparkles and catches the light.

In Lego Build Lab: Space Colony, students will design and construct their own futuristic space settlements using LEGO bricks. They’ll work like real engineers and architects as they solve challenges such as building habitats, transportation systems, and survival structures in space. This hands-on class encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration as students imagine what life beyond Earth could look like.

October 2026

October 5/7, 2026: Brighten Record Breakers: Make the Wall

Can you make Brighten history? Students will tackle exciting engineering and design challenges like building the tallest tower, strongest bridge, longest paper chain, and more. Every few months, they'll have the chance to break a Brighten record and earn a spot on our Record Breakers Wall for everyone to see! It's all about creativity, problem-solving, and friendly competition.

October 12/14, 2026: Animation Studio: Bring Your Drawings to Life
October 26/28, 2026: Chain Reactions

In Animation Studio, students will bring their drawings to life by creating simple frame-by-frame animations. They’ll learn the basics of motion, timing, and storytelling as they design characters and make them move, react, and interact on screen. This hands-on class encourages creativity and digital storytelling as students turn static art into dynamic animations.

Get ready to think, build, and problem-solve! In this hands-on engineering class, students will design and build their own chain reaction machines using a variety of materials. Through trial and error, they'll explore concepts like force, motion, and cause and effect while creating exciting, over-the-top reactions where every step triggers the next. Creativity and teamwork are encouraged as students see if they can make the ultimate chain reaction!

October 19/21, 2026: World Art Studio: Indian Block Printing

Travel the world through art! In this class, students will explore the traditional art of Indian block printing, learning about its history and cultural significance before designing and printing their own unique patterns on fabric or paper. A fun, hands-on way to combine creativity with world cultures!
